    Opportunity to become involved in Opening & Closing Ceremonies

    On July 23 the Opening Ceremony of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games will officially launch Glasgow and Scotland’s biggest-ever festival of sport and culture. At the heart of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies will be the 3000 people who will make up the cast which will be performing on these unforgettable occasions – and you could be one of them. It’ll be a once in a lifetime opportunity to get involved in one of Glasgow’s biggest ever parties.

    Brand new auditions will take place at the end of April. You don’t need to have previous experience as we will teach you all you need to know.. Bring your personality, commitment and maybe even a friend along to one of our group auditions and start the experience of a lifetime.

    The Young Innovators Challenge 2014 invites Scotland's students (18+) to submit ideas which address problems or opportunities related to one of three areas:
    • Healthcare and Wellbeing
    • Green and Sustainable Energy Resources
    • Smarter Communities and Infrastructure

    25 successful entrants could receive up to £2500 to work on their innovations throughout summer 2014 and take it from an idea to a potential solution!

    Entries can be submitted online from January 23rd until March 26th 2014

    COSE, Townholm Campus has fantastic new Gym facilities. Following a short induction to the gym, you can have access to this facility.

    How to Organise an Induction

    You must first pay £5.00 (for students) or £10.00 (for staff) per year, at Finance in the Kilmarnock Campus. You will be issued with a receipt. You can book an induction by contacting Fiona at COSE on 01563 549051 or e-mail You must wear appropriate gym clothing for your induction which will take approximately 40mins. You must bring your receipt to your induction, and you will be issued with your membership card.

    Gym Inductions throughout October

    Wednesday lunchtimes 1.00pm – 3.00pm

    Thursday 3.30pm – 5.30pm

    Friday 3.00pm – 5.00pm

    Gym Opening Times (subject to change)

    Monday – Friday 8.00am – 9.00am and 4.00pm – 6.00pm
